INTRODUCTION TO THE AFRICAN POET REALITY SHOW
A new concept of TV reality show has been unfolded into the entertainment world. It is an original idea, the first of its kind, full of fun, highly educative, inspiring and exceedingly entertaining. The African poet TV reality show is a total evolution in the entertainment industry.
This reality show will appeal to both the young and the old; this is because poetry is a naturally acceptable tradition in the society.
Sixteen Contestants will be locked in a house for eight weeks to vie for a prize, while the viewers at home will vote for their favorite character through their mobile phones, based on their performances in written/spoken word poetry, personal skills, as well as their general performances in the house. There will also be dancers to depict the imagery of the poetry.
In Every heart lies poetry, our ability to tell it makes us a poet.

Poetry
Is something.
To aim at another flying,
I something different.
Poetry is like aiming at a bird flying.
You also must fly.

Poetry is nearer to truth than history
-Plato
I've written some poetry I don't understand myself.
~Carl Sandburg
The poet, as everyone knows, must strike his individual note sometime between the ages of fifteen and twenty-five. He may hold it a long time, or a short time, but it is then that he must strike it or never. School and college have been conducted with the almost express purpose of keeping him busy with something else till the danger of his ever creating anything is past.
~Robert Frost
Everything in creation has its appointed painter or poet and remains in bondage like the princess in the fairy tale 'til its appropriate liberator comes to set it free. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
Each memorable verse of a true poet has two or three times the written content. ~Alfred de Musset, Le Poète déchu, 1839
